The God’s Own Office – Club house at Antharam, was a perfect venue for Organo Et School workshop on Microgreens. The morning sun in the backdrop was just perfect for this open-air program. This Do-It-Yourself, Microgreen's workshop was conducted by our Expert Ms. Sreedevi Ande. She really displays her microgreen planters very well, according to their growth stages. These were eco-friendly organic coconut-shells with beautiful wheatgrass microgreens, in various stages of growth.
Sreedevi started with introducing the microgreens and shared nutritional benefits of these baby plants. These wonderful greens are full of vitamins, antioxidants and micro-nutrients. The demonstration of how to grow microgreens from pre-soaked seeds, spreading seeds on a bed of soft cocopeat, covering these with this layer of cocopeat, and then sprinkling a little water on this layer, was done. The participants were told to wait for 10-15 days (about 2 weeks) before harvesting their microgreens. They were to take along with them these coconut shells they sowed the seeds in, from OES workshop. They learnt hands-on to grow microgreens, while following our expert. Sreedevi offered the participants a chance to harvest the displayed microgreens right there. These were then used for a No-flame cooking demo by God's Own Office café Chef. The Chef made 2 unbelievably delicious items, using microgreens in the recipes.
The participants got to take a Microgreen starter kit from this workshop as well. The kit had all the required materials to start growing microgreens at home. It had a growth tracker chart to let the participants follow the watering schedule and track an increase in length of their microgreens. All the components of this Microgreens starter kit were Earth friendly or *Near-zero waste material
