Mandala Garden farmers enthusiastically came to OES Children’s Farm Campus on 19th Jun 22, early morning. Coach Garima welcomed them and helped them by demonstrating harvesting coriander using scissors. Children followed the instructions and started harvesting freshly grown coriander from their Mandala patches. Looking at the harvest quantity they smiled proudly handing it over to their parents. The second crop they harvested on the final day was Spinach. Nice, green leafy palak they felt was very soft to touch.
Harvesting done, kids came up to their coach and she led them to the graduation ceremony. All the participants were awarded certificates of completion for the farming course. A farming journey well traversed, helped them learn about growing leafy vegetables and microgreens during a 30-day cycle. They also learnt working with soil is enjoyable and fruitful too.
It was evident from the feedback the parents and our young farmers gave, that this Sunday activity at the OES farm made them very happy. As one of the parents mentioned that, waking up their daughter on Sunday morning was not a task anymore when it was to wake up and go to the farm.
Having completed 6 different batches of farm programs for kids, OES is grateful to the parents for dedicatedly bringing the children and supporting OES in our endeavor to make earth a better place.
