November 9 to November 14 is observed as the International Week of Science and Peace every year around the globe. This week is an initiative taken by the United Nations (UN), hoping to make people contribute towards the encouragement and promotion of peace across the globe. In observance of International Science and Peace week, Organo Et School organized an Eco-community event at Jayabheri Orange County in Hyderabad on 12th Nov 22. The event had a bouquet of natural science relates workshops for kids and adults.
The first workshop was conducted by Ms. Shelly Goyal, a creative artist and social entrepreneur. This workshop, "Best Out-of-Waste crafts” was a highly engaging activity amongst kids aged 4 to 14 years, alike. They used natural waste material from home to create decorations and greetings for upcoming festivals. The look of happiness and satisfaction on the kids faces was worth all the effort put in.
The next leg of the event saw FOSS – Friends of Snake Society leading all the participants to an awareness session about snakes and their habitats in fast-urbanizing Indian cities. It was a very informative one-hour detailed program with live snakes being displayed. An audience of kids and adults enjoyed this encaptivating experience alike.
Next, Venkatesh Nallamilli Manager-Farming and Animal Husbandry at Organo Et School led kids to a DIY workshop of making Jeevamrutham. All the kids who participated in this activity enjoyed making the wonder biofertilizer. All of them took the 1-liter bottles of Jeevamrutham, home for tending to their plants.
This event was very successful in terms of creating awareness about natural ways of living and consciousness about the earth.
