Being present at the Good seeds Organic Earth Mela on 3rd July 2022 the first Sunday of July, was a rich experience and an opportunity to meet with a diverse pool of people, most of them on the path to embrace sustainable lifestyle. OES participated in this once-a-month event at Banjara hills, Hyderabad by putting up a stall which offered fun nature related activities for children and adults.
This was a special occasion for OES to interact with people as parents and individuals who are nature aware and value the sustainability initiative by Goodseeds and Organo Et School. The event saw very good footfall during the 5-hour window.
OES had organized nature-oriented Art activities for children at the amphitheater at Sapthaparni. Children participated in this exciting painting activity. OES guest artist Anurag Dahiya used natural articles like vegetables, leaves, flowers and even stones to help children create beautiful art illustrations sitting in a beautiful open-air venue, under a huge Temple tree. All the kids enjoyed painting with paint and stencils made by cutting vegetables.
Once they all finished with the art activity, OES Farm Coach and Manager called them all for another nature activity. He helped them to make a biofertilizer called Jeevamrutham. All of them enthusiastically followed his instructions and got Jeevamrutham filled up in bottles to take home what they learned. Having children involved in such activities gave the parents a sense of satisfaction, that they have got children to get a step closer to nature and appreciate the real thing.
This was a great opportunity for Organo Et School to showcase the various programs and workshops run for the audience in Hyderabad city. OES also encouraged visitors at our stall to take a few types of vegetable seeds for free and start their kitchen gardening journey back home. There was a good response to this initiative, as a lot of interested people expressed their desire to join OES programs. Thereby, OES spread awareness about the various educational initiatives it runs.
We recognize that for any positive impact to be sustainable, it has to be long-term and inter-generational. Organo Et School strives to create an apt learning environment that will support and empower families as well as individuals to embrace sustainable living mindsets and habits.
Organo Et School is a learning initiative set up by Organo in 2017 and has been facilitating fields visits and workshops for Schools and Interest Groups. Organo Et School has had over 25+ schools, 6500+ students and 3000+ adults participate over the last 5 years.
We believe in connecting children & adults with nature. Connecting children with the natural world at a young age is the first step in creating responsible stewards of our collective future.
