It gives Organo Et School immense pleasure, launching the third batch of Kinder Gardeners farming program at OES Children’s farm campus.
The third batch of this program kick started with an enthusiastic bunch of toddlers ages 5-8 years young, some of them second timers. All the kids looks excited to know what a farming program is all about. Being from urban settings coming to a farm was a first time experience for some of these little ones.
Coach Sreedevi Ande, an OES valued expert did an ice breaker introduction for all 10 kinder gardeners. They all enthusiastically gave their Names and grades and specifically class sections as their intro. Moving on to a soil introduction and soil preparation activity, they all followed the coach to the best of their ability.
Next came the sowing of seeds by broadcasting method, as the seeds best suited for this 1-month crop cycle were Gongura and Spinach seeds. Having broadcasted the seeds evenly in their farm patches they all went out of the farm fence to the water source to fetch water for the sown seeds. They sprinkled water carefully, not to overwater and cause the seeds to be exposed for the birds.
OES Director Ms. Meena Murugappan spoke individually to all the enthusiastic parents and shared ideas for this program. It was really very encouraging for us to know from how distant locations these families have committed to come to OES farm for a full 1-month. This shows their dedication for helping their children to work with soil and its importance for them as a growing family.
