Having Kids come to Organo Et School Children’s farm campus for attending Kinder Gardener Farm program is a delight for Organo Et School (OES) team. To watch the kids run up to their kinder Garden farm patches with fresh morning energy, is encouraging.

On 25th Sept 22, Sunday morning all participants and their farm coach Sreedevi, together started the weeding process at their farm patches. Sreedevi guided them to identify and weed the unwanted plant growth in the farm patches where they had sowed Gongura and spinach seeds last Sunday. They also learned why weeding is important for healthy growth of vegetable plants. If weed growth is not checked, they compete with the crop plants for nutrients, moisture, sunlight, and space.

Kids also learnt about seed failure as one of the impediments in farming. Farm coach explained in case the of failure of seed germination, the recommendations to be followed in natural farming.

Followed by Jeevamrutham preparation activity conducted by Venkatesh Nalamilli Manager Farming at Organo et School. Every child along with their parents engaged in this experiential workshop. All of them made jeevamrutham with their hands following the instructions given by Venkatesh. Each child’s individual jeevamrutham bucket was set aside for fermentation (approx. 10 days) with respective names marked on it.

This brought the session to a close with kids washing up and then moving on for breakfast arranged by God’s Own Café at Organo Antharam, for all the participating families.

The day ended beautifully with all Kinder Gardener parents getting freshly harvested vegetables from (kitchen garden area) at OES Children’s farm, to take back.
