On February 10th, 2024, Organo Antharam Residents gathered at Rurban Hive for an enriching workshop on herb cultivation titled "How to Grow Herbs." The workshop aimed to educate participants on the nuances of growing herbs, particularly in the Telangana region.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Sreedevi Ande, an experienced Urban Gardener followed by an engaging ice-breaking activity. Participants delved into discussions about various herbs, sharing personal experiences and knowledge about their usage in daily life.
The introductory session covered essential topics, including popular culinary herbs in Telangana, selecting suitable herbs for local conditions, and understanding the differences between growing herbs and other plants. Additionally, participants learned about sunlight and water requirements crucial for herb cultivation.
During this session, participants had the opportunity to observe a demonstration of ten herb varieties displayed on a table. The importance of soil composition was highlighted, and attendees learned how to create the perfect potting mix for their herbs.
