On a sunny Sunday morning of 13 Mar 2022, OES Kinder Gardeners program ended, with young Kinder Gardeners graduating after completing a monthlong farming program.
Their farm day started as usual, they all ran and assembled near their farm patches. OES farm coach Sreedevi Ande led them to their small farms to a pleasant surprise with fresh leafy greens ready for harvest. These toddlers learnt how to harvest Amaranthus and Coriander from the ground. As they started uprooting the fully grown green vegetables their mounds grew bigger and bigger. They put all this produce in their harvest bags and rolled up some more in newspapers to take home. All 10 kids were incredibly happy to collect what they had grown over a month during the farming sessions, at OES Children’s Farm.
Then came the proud moment, the graduation ceremony. Ms Shilpa Teja OES farming coach for the BAF program, felicitated our Kinder Gardeners by awarding them certificates. The little ones came up one by one to collect their graduation certificates joyfully. Coach Sreedevi shared her experience with the kids on their farming journey. To add to these thoughts, parents also shared their feedback and memories created over the past one month. These were indeed proud moments for everybody, to see these little ones enjoy doing so many things and learning along. We enjoyed every bit of the morning. And we hope the parents and kids did the same!
