Exploring Nature and Dairy: Kindergardeners Visit to the Goshala

Nature Walk
The trip began with a nature walk where they explored various aspects of sustainable farming, such as fodder, water conservation, hydroponics and musgroom cultivation.

The children saw how the fodder for the cows is grown naturally. While visiting the fodder area they also caught sight of many small insects who are friends of soil.

Ms Sandya Reddi introduced the children to the meaning of Goshala and features of a cow. They also learned about the differences between Indian cows and Western cows and got a chance to see how milk from Gir cows is processed into by-products like butter and ghee.

They also experienced the use of gobar gas for cooking, witnessing a demonstration of lighting a flame with this eco-friendly fuel.

Additionally, the children saw how fodder is shredded and learned about feeding calves with naturally grown, chemical-free fodder.

They had a great time feeding the cows, especially Bahubali, the ox. The visit ended with a delightful tasting session of buttermilk and cow milk, which the children enjoyed.

Both children and parents were equally enthusiastic, interested in tasting the milk and paneer. They were also informed about the hormone-free, high-quality practices used in raising and vaccinating the cows, ensuring the safety of the dairy products.
