During a visit from the OES team to the school premises, the session commenced with one team engaging in buttermilk spraying while the other team diligently filled out their farm log book.

The students of The Sri Ram Academy were thrilled to witness the growth of their plants in the grow bags next to the classroom.
Buttermilk spraying, spearheaded by farming expert Ms. Sreedevi, commenced with an explanation of the vital role of living organisms in soil health and leafy pest protection. Buttermilk, acting as a natural fertilizer, not only safeguards against fungal issues and diseases but also fosters healthy soil and plant growth due to its beneficial bacteria and enzymes.
Ms. Sreedevi demonstrated the proper dilution and spraying technique, highlighting the incorporation of a pinch of hing into the buttermilk-water mixture.
The students of The Sri Ram Academy are engaging in a wonderful and hands-on application of agricultural knowledge by incorporating buttermilk spraying into their plant care routine. They took the spray bottles and started spraying into their leafys getting excited about its growth.
Maintaining Farm log
Maintaining a farm log is an essential aspect of education and responsible farming. The farm log activities led by Ms. Sandhya at The Sri Ram Academy contribute to the students' understanding of plant care and farm management. By recording fertilizer applications, weather conditions, and plant growth stages, students learn the importance of keeping detailed records in farming. These records help track the progress of their plants.
Recording the items used in farming along with their market rates helps students develop market awareness. They learn about the value of different inputs, such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, and how market prices can impact farm profitability.
