The young farmers were coming close the end of the winter crop cycle with the harvest session on 6 Feb 2022. They all came to OES farm today to harvest what they had grown for almost a 2-months long crop cycle. Their farm patches offered ready to harvest red carrots, green chillies, bright red and yellow tomato and long green lady fingers.

All of them enjoyed pulling out nice long carrots from the ground. Some were successful and some were not in pulling the carrots out, fully intact. Sometimes carrots didn’t budge, only the green leaves were let loose. It was a lot of fun for the farming friends. Eventually OES farm supervisor came to help them with pulling out carrots in one piece.

They picked chilies easily from the plants. While picking out okra was a bit difficult. Best activity for the day was plucking out nice and round tomatoes from plants.  The produce of tomatoes was quite a bit to fill their harvest bags and baskets.

All the kids ran up to their parents to show their vegetables freshly harvested from their allocated farm patches.

This harvest brought them to the close of winter crop cycle which ran for almost 2-months. Now they eagerly await the graduation ceremony scheduled for the coming Sunday, while bidding bye to OES team and the farm.
