A delightful visit unfolded on December 1st, as 22 children from Athena Kinderhaus embarked on an educational journey to Organo Et School Farm, immersing themselves in the wonders of natural farming. These young learners, aged 18 months to 4 years, radiated curiosity, happiness, and enthusiasm throughout their hands-on farming experience.

Upon arriving at the farm, the children eagerly delved into the soil, exploring its texture and richness. Engaging in sensory experiences, they delighted in smelling coriander leaves before transitioning to a tented area. To set the tone for the day, the children participated in heartwarming rhyme sessions related to farming.

The highlight of the day was the seed sowing activity, where each child, armed with a small shovel, prepared the soil and planted seeds provided in eco-friendly areca plates. Guided by their teachers, the children reveled in the joy of sowing seeds, marking a memorable moment.

Following the hands-on activity, the children had snacks before going on a comprehensive farm tour.

The tour encompassed insights into the Mandala Garden, lessons on pest control using flowering plants, and observations of various crops such as carrots, brinjals, palak, tomatoes, chiku, pomegranate, mango trees, coconut trees, and a water pond.

A special highlight included a visit to banana plantations, where the children learned about the versatile uses of banana leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits.

As a token of continued learning, we have given a microgreens kit to nurture and grow microgreens at their school. The workshop concluded with gratitude for the opportunity to share the joys of farming with the students of Athena Kinderhaus.
