On 28th July 2024, Bio-enzyme session was led at ODIC, Bakaram by Ms. Kalyani, our head of sustainability, who shared her extensive knowledge and passion for eco-friendly practices.
Ms. Kalyani began by introducing the concept of bio-enzymes, explaining how these natural cleaners are made from kitchen waste, such as fruit peels, and have a wide range of uses, from household cleaning to agricultural applications.
She detailed the step-by-step process of creating bio-enzymes, emphasizing the environmental benefits of using organic waste to produce a versatile, eco-friendly product.
The participants were particularly interested in how the residue left after the initial bio-enzyme production could be reused to create new batches, thereby reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Ms. Kalyani also provided practical advice on the correct ratio for diluting bioenzymes when using them as a plant fertilizer, ensuring the right balance of nutrients.
The workshop was not only informative but also hands-on. Participants had the opportunity to see the process in action and ask questions about best practices and potential applications. At the end of the session, they were delighted to receive samples of the bio-enzyme they helped create, allowing them to continue exploring its benefits at home.
The experience inspired everyone to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Participants also showed keen interest in learning more about composting and informed that, they would not throw away any organic waste from the kitchen.
At last, the participants were awarded with certificates for successfully completing the workshop.
